So I cruse the CloudyNights forums and 3d printing is popping up more and more. Chriske has been doing some great stuff with his printers.
So how come I don’t see many people modeling in their own support instead of having the slicers manage it for them?

Am I the only one having problems getting on CloudyNights.com today?? And as usual in mid sentence it is up and working.

I find it better to design parts that don’t need support, but if I have to have an overhang that will sag without support, then I’ll model some in. My AR15 lower used modeled support, as did the threadless ball screw drive on my new printer.

Same here, I design the part to not need support. There is almost always a way around it.
