So I have an Anet E10 and I was considering replacing the hot end with something like this. However, I don’t know the pros and cons of it. If anyone has any experience or feedback as to why or why I shouldn’t get this, let me know. Also, if you happen to have any other suggestions, I’d like to hear those as well but keep in mind I’m not looking to spend a bunch of money. Also, I only print with PLA if that makes any difference at all.

Holy shit, 8 spam comments in 6 minutes! Google even managed to catch all of them…

Don’t get this garbage. Knockoff E3Ds are just going to give you more problems than what you started with. Best way to avoid hassle is just to buy the correct, high quality part right off the bat.

Knock-off E3D hot ends will cause problems forever.

I like how the heatbreak isn’t even threaded all the way in in the photo.

My first printer came with one of these and I have never had an issue caused by the hot end. Since then I have used these on two more machines, and never had issues.

To be completely fair I’ve thought about buying original E3D hot ends, but based on how the knock offs have performed, I just can’t justify spending so much on the hot end.

@ThantiK what would you suggest I buy then?

@Kevin_Danger_Powers …real E3D parts? https://e3d-online.com/resellers

The american flag in the photo and statement that it ships from Kansas is hilarious, since it uses Chinese clone vendor terminology (“J-head” on an E3Dv6 clone listing…?) and the ad copy was clearly written by a non-native English speaker.

Just buy an E3D lite since you mainly use PLA. It will be reliable, and upgradeable for the future if you want. This wouldn’t be worth the headache it could cause if not properly manufactured.

@Ryan_Carlyle What’s “Knock-off”?

@Tim_Elmore that is actually the way E3D makes them.

@ly_Zheng Definition of knockoff
: a copy that sells for less than the original; broadly : a copy or imitation of someone or something popular

I once tried a Chinese copy. Never got it to work without jamming. I then tried the original and use nothing else today.

@Bjorn_Ringholm we tried to build some parts ourselves and found the cost very high.

The flag is hilarious… An American flag on a Chinese knock off of a British product…

Very multicultural!

@Martin_Dolan so internet

@Bjorn_Ringholm Incorrect, the heatbreak should go all the way into the heatsink, up until the necked section. https://static.e3d-online.com/media/catalog/product/cache/75eed2686e01eb22cb4050b2f40ddf97/v/6/v6-metal-assembled-large_1.png

@Tim_Elmore Ahhh, sorry about that. My interpretation of the comment was that the neck of the heat break was milled out of the thread… Not that it wasn’t inserted far enough into the body. English is not my first language…
