So I have this thing printing fine with magnets as well as spring tensioners. But I have a question what may be causing some sort of ridges in a Delta on the Z axis, it mainly appears on the little arms of the pyramid, on the 10 or so bottom layers the z wobble is not there. I would assume that if it were a Cartesian then there could be Z lead screw issues, but this is more of a slight wobble… I’m thinking something with the carriages wobbling around ever so slightly… Cheers for any suggestions?

I suspect stiction. Unless those magnet balls and their sockets are mirror smooth they will stick and pop slightly. Maybe try a little oil, grease or petroleum jelly?
Thanks. I got oil all over it. It sort of does have this’ tacky’ way of sticking. Where when you move it by hand it sort of jerks a bit but it doesn’t seem noticable while printing. I think a result of aluminum and chrome together. The oil is black after only a couple hours of use. I suspect this is aluminum rubbing off. But yes I think you are onto something with the ‘stickyness’. I will do some experimentation and get back my results here. Cheers
Try some “mouse” tape in the holes. Its thin Teflon to put as replacement gliders on the bottom of a computer mouse.
