So I just replaced my printerboard with the new Rev.

So I just replaced my printerboard with the new Rev. F running the firmware for the latest printrbot plus. The problem I ran in to was the y axis was not homing the right direction so I reversed the plug on the y motor. After that the printer seemed to home fine. The problem I’m running into is all my parts are mirrored. The words are backwards the herringbone is backwards even the print preview on cura is backwards. Please help I’ve been doing this for about a year and encountered a lot of problems but nothing like this. Note the pictures were the words read the right way are taken in the mirror.

You’ve got your endstops/motor direction backwards somewhere.

When you home on a machine like this, the bed should go back (away from you) and the head should move to the left. The nozzle should be at the front left of the bed for 0,0.

Flip whatever endstop, and motor connector around so that this is where it ends up on homing.

@ThantiK Right out of the box X and z were homing corectly. Y axis however was moving toward me to home not away so I reversed the motor connector and everything seemed fine it all homed in the left front corner. The only other new feature I’ve added is the induction sensor which before touches the front left, back left, and back right corner before the print (which to me seems corect). I hope this info helps.

@Matthew_Satterlee I could not believe how close his problem was to mine.

It’s a known issue that the newer “unified” firmware versions that @Printrbot has released are not %100 compatible with all of their printers… If you are adverse to modifying/compiling the firmware yourself, I would suggest that you ask @Printrbot what version to install from their list of official releases. https://github.com/Printrbot/Marlin/releases

EDIT: I just noticed that the new rev “F4” board has a firmware released specifically for your printer. Is that the board you got?

@Matthew_Satterlee I got the board for the plus model 1404 or something like that but my plus is the v2.1. I thought they should just swap so I could use the auto leveling.

Issues aside have you noticed any difference in quality or its ability to heat the bed? I find my rev D metal simple is horrible at heating the bed was wondering if the rev f helps at all?

@Gunnar_Meyers , sorry for the slow response… I think you can use one of the more recent firmware builds that @Printrbot released, but I would suggest creating a help ticket with them to make sure. They are pretty good about responding to questions like this.

@Michael_Spano_Jr_Ama , I run a different power supply at ~17v which heats things up faster (printrboard max voltage is listed @19v). The more common solution with printrboards is to use an SSR and 24v power supply for the bed. There are some really great threads about this topic over at http://printrbottalk.com, but the general idea is that faster heating is achieved by higher voltage.

@Matthew_Satterlee I’m not really worried about speed. More about the fact that I can’t get above 80C on a good day.

@Michael_Spano_Jr_Ama , you either don’t have enough voltage/watts to get it hotter than that or your power supply isn’t supplying enough current. You could check to see how much the voltage drops at the power supply when the bed is on. A big drop in voltage would indicate that the power supply isn’t able to output enough current… http://www.printrbottalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=8002&hilit=heated+bed+voltage

It’s very odd. Running an 800W with 30+amps on each 12v rail. I think the wings may be acting like a heatsink.
