So I know someone that wants to hack a ESP8266 into one of these. Linear rail measuring device, anyone hack one before?? Someone wants to add WIFI to it, no idea what’s in it… http://www.esp8266.com/u/linear Does anyone know anything about them, how they might work… etc? Looks like a fun @Arduino hack to do… let me know.

it looks like the the box has an photo interrupter in it, but $40 is too much to ask just to find out.

Check out this link. This was done using Arduino or MPS430, Bluetooth, and an Android tablet. I’ve built two of these and they work great.
