So i printed this heart vase for my daughter on Saturday more as print test in KISSlicer, which took 1 hour 50 minutes to print. It came out really well but as you can see it left blobs on the side wall each time it transistioned to a new layer it retracted, and re-started. It was printed with a layer height of 0.2, width of 0.4, skin thickness 0.5, jitter 20%, and an average speed of 70mm/s. Does anyone have any sugestions on how to remedy this problem?.
Thanks
Not sure if KISS has this but if you could print it in vase mode it should take care of that problem.
Meant to add also it was printed in vase mode. Thanks for the suggestion though
Weird, I’ve seen none, and there should be no retracts in vase mode, which slic3r - apart from the first layer of course - makes a single filament perimeter loop using one continuous move all the way up.
Jitter should be ignored by the slicer in that case.
Thanks. Might have to print the same item in slic3r also and compare. There must be a setting I am missing in KISSlicer that is causing this. Every layer seems to retract, regardless of what I print
