So, I want to rebuild my Daft Punk helmet - I figure use some 144/m LED strips to do vertical strips in a matrix. Does anyone have a good, cheap source for these? I need about 2m of strip. I almost had an incredible deal on AliExpress around xmas time, but I was about $5 short. it sucked.

You might find a better deal buying two meters and using Postal shipping - if you can wait at least a month. Also, this is Spring Festival in China and most if not all stores are closed until about 2/10.
Adafruit is not cheap at all. $60 for 1m, when going rate on aliexpress is in the $35 range? No thanks.
