So im getting the Prusa i3 MK2S next week. For the silicon socks which ones do i need?
So just the socks by themselves i dont need any fancy hardware?
If you just want to put the sock on then yes, nothing else is need.
Becareful when put the sock on, make sure it fit correctly or it might fell down mid print.
Yeah that wouldnt be good lol
It’s not too difficult to get the sock where it’s needed, just twist and bend it without worry - you can’t break it!
Lol ok thanx
im so excited!
Did you get yours put together succesfully?
@Cristian_Martinez I did, eventually. It was an effing LOT of work, though, took me something like 12 hours! I took it slow, though, and double-checked every single step, so I got all the axises perpendicular on the first try.
Yeah im prepared for atleast 8 hours lol. Its probably gonna be more
Hopefully itll give me time to get those silicone socks before i get it running
@Cristian_Martinez I had a lot of trouble with getting the rods all in a perfect rectangle, and I still don’t know if the belts are too tight, too slack or just fine – the short clip in the online-manual just doesn’t give enough of a clue on this and you just basically have to guess
Did you try using a right angle ruler to make sure you got a good 90° ?
@Cristian_Martinez No, I was already running out of hands even as-is, I’d have needed a couple more hands to hold a ruler, too!
Besides, I don’t own a right-angle ruler, anyways.
Lol i have a brand new one ive never used. Never had to. Its still sitting in its packaging lol. Well my little brother wants to help me put it together. Theres my extra pair of hands lol
@Cristian_Martinez Lucky you, those do come in handy at several points
I hope you also have success with your printer
As do i lol
I think the sock is included.
They sound like magic lol
I find the socks don’t last long at all and stopped using them
