So I’m new to 3d printing, can anyone tell me wy it is that when trying to upload the marlin firmware on a makerbase MIS Gen L V1.o board, marlin told #error "oops! Choose sanguino from tools boards menu. So I spent the night figuring out how to get sanguino into the board menu? Now it tells me oops! Make sure you have Arduino mega selected? My original selection and so on?
Not that I can answer your question but…
Are you referring to the arduino firmware uploader giving that error? Whoever would answer your question will need to know. It was not clear to me, so it might not be clear to them.
Yea, the error box at the bottom, it then directed me to a page with the links and instructions to follow for adding sanguino to the board menu. But when I choose sanguino ,I tells me to choose Arduino mega, and vise versa?
That is the risk you take when buying cheap chinese boards. It could be missing its bootloader.
You could try to solve this, https://3dprinterchat.com/2016/08/how-to-fix-a-bricked-3d-printer-board-installing-a-bootloader/, or buy a new one. Or even something better, like a duet.

@Rien_Stouten This should not be a forum for chastising people for a decision that they made, but one of support.
@Rien_Stouten thanks
I don’t believe the error is with the board, marlin won’t compile, it throws the error in verify?
@DayRider76 does you mean MKS? You said MIS.
http://www.robotrebels.org/index.php?topic=769.0 this is it? Note that tnere is no FTDI chip which was notorious for getting bricked.

Atmega2560 is what you have according to a number of sale ads for the board. Select that. You were selecting the wrong chip.
@Noel_Kuck I was not chastising anyone, but suddenly I feel I should. Chastise someone. But I will not. Because I generally don’t respond well to people like you, and you were right about this not being the forum for that kind of thing. See? I’m letting it slide. I can do that. Can you, Noel?
@NathanielStenzel yes that is the board. Mks gen l 1.0, when I have the board selected “Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560” and Processor: "ATmega2560 (mega 2560) #error “oops! Make sure you have ‘Sanguino’ selected from the 'Tools → Board’s menu.”
I had to load Sanguino json in order to do that. I select sanguino from boards, it then says
#error "oops! Make sure you have ‘Arduino Mega’ selected from the’Tools → Board’s munu. " ???
Well that didn’t work? Lol
I can make the board blink if that means anything?
Atmega 2560…not genuino mega. Select the item below what you selected in the picture before last.
@NathanielStenzel yea, I’ve tried them all, been at this for over a month? Currently I’m trying to get repetier host to do something?
Well, I am sure you need to select the atmega2560. Else than that, I do not know.
