So I’m trying to create a new printer, but I only have an stl with the printed parts on a single plate.
Does anyone know how to easily take 1 stl and split it into multiple stls for each part? (About 10 parts). If any one knows how or has an easy way to do it or some kind of program, I can email it to you.
Thanks!
Cura has the ability to split an stl into parts by right clicking
Thanks guys. I’ll try mesh mixer. Cura can’t export stls can it?
Ok. Got it using cura. Thanks!
Slic3r also has this ability, seems that you’ve already figured it out.
Blender. Import STL, TAB onto edit mode, P to separate and choose loose parts, then TAB out of edit mode and select the individual models and export the STLs you want. I’ve got a video on YouTube about this but I can’t get the link at the moment. http://youtube.com/user/mrjoesays
