So it looks like my stepper motor driver was the problem earlier cause my i3 is happy again. Just finished this direct drive extruder (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:501755).
I’ve been using the first iteration, and it’s been working well and has handled hours of printing with an E3Dv6 head.
The quality is ‘ok’, but I’ve been struggling with getting good prints from a batch of filament I picked up. This is PLA at 200, and it still seems too hot with the shininess. I’ve done lower temps but felt like I had to slow it down. I hate going below 40mm/s anymore, it’s like you’ve got to have more cowbell.
