So, I’ve decided I’d like to build a Delta printer. Something along the lines of a Rostock, or a Kossel. My problem: I’m still pretty new to this (I’ve only used my PrintrBot Simple so far); I need your help.
I’d like it to be reasonably-sized (not too big), and sturdy. I’m not fond of magnets for connections, and I don’t mind buying manufactured parts (e.g.: model U-joints, carbon fiber rods). I also prefer belts rather than Spectra line.
I’d appreciate any suggestions. Links to plans and/or BOM would be perfect!
In my case, since the Rigidbot isn’t gonna hit my door for 2~3 months, I couldn’t wait and got in on the QU-BD 1^. It has not arrived yet, but this one will be a kit so that when my fully assembled BIG! gets here I’ll have earned some maker cred.
@Tim_Rastall I can be flexible. maybe I should try a Simpson variant? @Eric_Moy Yep. Looks like the RigidBot will ship shortly after the Chinese New Year holidays. @Rojer_Wisner I’m right there with you, buddy, and i like to hear what you’re doing in the meantime.
Finding some good sources on Amazon for Kossel Mini parts! Found precut aluminum extrusion kit for $49, and some cheap tool steel rods. I may actually be able to do this!
