So, #fuseboxCoreXY, Most of the parts are ordered, with exception of the steppers, hot end and a few bearings and the majority of the plastic parts are printed I’ve decided to ditch the X carriage due to possible cooling issues and use my favoured E3D fan setup. It’s also a start of getting rid of the Cable Ties attaching the bearings. I’ve gone for a Prusa inspired carriage, where the bearings push fit. I’m going to be designing caps for the ends to kill any bearing movement, but this is pretty much how it’s turned out. I’m going to lose a little Z height but it doesn’t bother me too much, it’s a small sacrifice for good cooling. It may not be an ideal solution, but it’s certainly better than cable tying bearings in. Also it needs a little reinforcing on the joints but I’ve been at this for about 6 hours and it’s now almost 6 am… Any thoughts or improvements would be appreciated.
