So my dual extruder carriage is finally taking shape, but before I continue I thought it would be best to ask if the way the bowden tube will have to bend when at 0 y is acceptable. To me it seems under a bit of pressure, and since I don’t know a lot about bowden in general, it would be better safe then sorry. To relive the stress I set the motors at a angle, which seemed to help. Thanks for any input :+1:

I would assume it should be fine. My Anet E10 has a decent bend to it and I don’t have any retraction issues. However, if your filament starts getting brittle (which of course will eventually happen), having a sharp curve could make it more susceptible to breaking. I’ve had filament just sitting out in the open for a few months and have NOT had any issues though.

@Kevin_Danger_Powers OK, I thought It should be fine, as well my steppers are 5:1 so they have that extra torque. Just wanted to make sure, thanks!

Now I’m ready to make one!! Maybe put it on a pivot to let it do what it wants

@Brook_Drumm I was thinking exactly that! Might have to make some adjustments once I have it running, this is more of a proof of concept for me. The final version will be better👌

@Brook_Drumm that’s not a bad idea! If you had a stainless rod with some slip fit oil bushings, I bet that could actually work.

608 bearings are my goto part for pivots

UPDATE: I’m currently creating the firmware for the printer, should have it running by the weekend (lots of tests in school has slowed my progress.)
