So, my @Solidoodle Press printer won’t level the build plate correctly. During the gcode startup, it issues the appropriate G29 command, which does the test 9 point process correctly, but when the print starts, it is still unlevel. The back of the print is too close to the print head and the front is too far away.

The machine appears to be using Marlin as it’s firmware, but no other details are available. I’ve been using their SoliPrint software, which uses the Slic3r engine.

Any ideas as to what I should be looking for to correct for this?

Is there more metal toward the front for it to sense? It sounds like it may be triggering early in front. Either that, or it’s software.
If you were to use the traditional manual method, would the rear of the build plate be higher?

No, it’s a standard endstop mechanical switch on the print head. It is definitely moving the Z axis during the print… just not far enough.

Mine does the same thing because it is harder to push down on the Smartrap when you are far out on the bed. If I were you I would switch to an inductive sensor. That is what I am going to and from what I’ve seen they work a heck of a lot better.

This is a Solidoodle Press… I don’t have the option of switching sensors.
