So my story begins here.

So my story begins here. The main thing is to start, but the more I do, the more I realize how much remains to be done. Cross table I upgraded was like here http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Way-Cross-Slide-Vise-3-Mounts-on-Drill-Press-Table-/251815481590?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa15f50f6

It was very cheap table, about € 50. Table dimensions 320x120. Weight is about 30kg already.

@Vladislav_Kislovski Getting started is nice, but maintaining momentum as you go along is critical too.

For me the trick to doing long, involved projects is to make up punch lists, then check things off as I accomplish them. That way I can have more immediate feedback as far as progress is concerned. Of course I keep on making new lists as things go along. But for some odd reason just using lists helps me a lot anyways.

@Vladislav_Kislovski Are you designing/constructing that mill from scratch?

@Michael_Jacobsen Yes, from scratch, but not quite divorced from reality - sometimes you have to design of those materials that are. This is happiness when there are plenty to choose from.

@Paul_Frederick Always envied people like you. For me to plan something on paper - a deadly anguish. But you’re right - there must be order.

@Vladislav_Kislovski Cool! Using steel?

@Michael_Jacobsen Everywhere steel, except the base. It is a soft aluminum, I thought it would help dampen vibration but at the same time the sheet is thick enough and hard

Guess you already have access to a mill then, to make those parts…
