So once again I have a question for you all.

So once again I have a question for you all. I’m trying to replace my current light diffusers which at the moment are just pieces of cut up craft foam from Walmart. The problem is no matter how much I try I just can’t get them to look “Clean” enough. I was curious if anyone may have a few suggestions of things I might be able to use. Thanks in advance and a Huge thanks for all the help!!!

Is this due to the inside of the craft foam not being uniform?

I’ve used cheap translucent plastic binder covers before. Hold them up to the light in the store and check for “clarity”. I also bought a packet of heavy duty plastic binder covers from here that will last me a long time.

Also, try lowering the brightness a bit, that can help reduce the hot spot thing

I’m sure it’s tight in there with not much space between the LEDs and your outer diffusion. You might also try adding some sort of “pre” diffusion between the LEDs and the outer diffusion. Something to diffuse it a bit before it get’s diffused again. Could be as simple as a few layers of white paper over the LEDs, but try to raise it off the LEDs, even a tiny bit if possible.
The spacing between the LEDs and the diffusion can make a large difference in how it starts to smooth things out. Keep experimenting!

@marmil Yes it is mostly Due to not being able to get the craft foam Uniform… I have put the Sidebars inside the helmet and You really can’t see any “Hot Spots”. But You can clearly see the Bars through the tinted Visor and It is very Difficult to get the Foam Uniformed and Seamless… lol Sorry if it seems like I am trying to be a Perfectionist…lol
