So shiny! I want one so bad, but $135 + shipping…

I knew it would be expensive when I saw it but didn’t know it would be like that!
I made something like it out of a wooden table round from Lowe’s and about 250 WS2811 pixels. I like the spacing better on the adafruit.
You can get 10% off with a discount code on Wednesdays. Becky Stern hosts a Wearables program at 2 PM EST and Lady Ada hosts Ask an Engineer at 8 PM EST. They announce the discount code early in the programs, and later times too. Links to the programs at http://adafruit.com on Wednesday. Or you can watch the video later, but the discount code is only good until midnight on Wednesdays.
I’ve made something similar(ish) to this myself. I’d say to make one of your own, but then I remembered how long I spent soldering the whole thing up. Actually, make one of your own.
The Adafruit one does have nicer spacing, but it looks like it would be very difficult to program anything other than concentric circles.
Here’s a quick video of mine. It’s a fun layout to work with.
I have been wanting to make something similar for a long time but laying out LED strips into a circle is a pain… so I just bought one
Yeah, a bit expensive, but not bad for what you get. Though, I’m hoping those two holes in the center can be used for power, because those JST SM connectors are NOT going to handle 10A+!
Got it!
