So this is my take on a water cooled replacement of the e3d-v6 heatsink.

So this is my take on a water cooled replacement of the e3d-v6 heatsink. It is built to suit the 30x30mm footprint of the smallest blower fan I could find ( https://www.digikey.com.au/products/en?mpart=BFB0305MA-A&v=603 ). The block depth is 16mm to suit the external diameter of the groove mount, which also matches up well with 16mm bar stock. I am waiting on 90deg barbed fittings for the coolant lines but thought I would post what I have right now.

Looks nice. How does the inner barrel seal in the water block?

@Ryan_Carlyle JB weld. I’m not sure what its thermal conductivity is like but I expect there is enough cooling surface area directly on the barrel that it shouldn’t really matter if there is rapid heat transfer between the barrel and the block. I should do some calcs but that is what I do for a day job, so…

@Daryl_Bond you’re only trying to remove a couple watts iirc, I don’t think you need much surface area. As long as you keep the water reasonably cool anyway.

Nice one! Cooling will be way more than enough, don’t worry :slight_smile:

@Jeff_Parish @Jayson_Kelly

Yep. I’m following.

I’ll take two :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice, hopefully the seal holds.
