So we are coming into the serious prep period for Burning Man. I’m curious as to who from this community will be going this year and what projects they will be working on. I am the lighting guy for the BRC three O’ clock Post Office…BRC3PO. We converted our sign from ELwire to LEDs last year. It runs 600 neopixels. We weren’t sure if they would hold up on-playa, so we were very conservative about what we tried to do. They held up fine - every pixel still works. This year I am migrating us to FASTled and starting to push the envelope. If you’re there, come on by.

What are you folks planning?

First of all, GO GO BRC3PO! And go you for deciding to up your game (again!) this year!

Last year I brought seventeen independent pieces of light-art to the playa, and gave away fifteen of them (as I had planned… Serious Playa Gifts, let’s say.) I won’t be going to TTITD this year, but I’m happy to help folks with ideas and troubleshooting as time permits – so even if I’m not there in body, I will be in spirit, or at least code!
