So with me finally getting the Prometheus System I am needing a way to connect the 2 extruder motors to my board. The Printrboard I have does not support this so I am guessing I need a new board, or is there another way to do this? If I need a completely new board, what would you suggest (cheap is better, but not to cheap
). Also is there anyway to edit a marlin.hex file? the Arduino IDE doesn’t recognize it, and I would rather not remake the entire firmware for my printer.
Thanks
Good luck with your growing pains. Also consider your electrical power needs. Between all the hotends and extruders and heated bed and fans, you may need more electrical power.
@Mindless do you have any expirience with the ramps 1.4?
@Mindless so the notepad++ will still work? And about the ramps board, i was searching amazon and saw a couple but how do i tell if its a cheap chinese one? And what is the probability of breaking somthing on one of the cheaper boards?
@Mindless oh good, there are tutorials!!! I have to admit im pretty new to all of this, so im absorbing things like a dry sponge rn. One day ill get it tho😂. Thanks for the links, i hope i can get this up and running rather soon, going to be so much better when i can print with disolvable support!!
@Mindless well i definitly know who to call if i get stuck! And if you could get those links that would be fantastic! Thanks for all your help, its sorta alot to take in😅
@Mindless Not cheap, but I’m loving my Duet WiFi on my new Voron CoreXY and am saving my pennies up for another one (or the upcoming Duet Ethernet) for my DeltaMaker. Movement is so smooth and sooo quiet, and I’m driving 2 extruders and 2 Z-motors (in series) with the 1 board.
@Fred_Hamilton  worth the extra cost?
@Matthew_Del_Rosso I think so, but I guess it depends on your budget. I find it a lot easier to configure than Marlin (changing gcode files vs compiling firmware), but I do miss some aspects of Octoprint (like live gcode visualization). The HW, FW, and SW developers are very active on the forums and update and add new features regularly. 32 bit will definitely improve delta printer speed/linearity and is possibly smoother on CoreXY. But it is expensive…
@Matthew_Del_Rosso I should also add that while I don’t have the whole Prometheus System, I do have SeeMeCNC’s Y adapter and got it to work relatively quickly with the Duet, thanks to some help from from @kraegar on the forum. https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=1010
@Fred_Hamilton interesting, thanks!
