So yesterday I traded in old xbox that I never use for a model M keyboard from the original owner it looks great it still have the cover on it so when I got home I tried it and the whole left side the a d and Z keys were very hard to press. I told the guy and he offered to trade back but I found it was a relatively simple thing to fix so now I have a keyboard. That I can restore that looks 100% new on the front and only has one plastic rivet that needs repair. I’m probably going to replace all the plastic rivets with little nuts and bolts so I will have a nice keyboard for years to come

Nice keyboard!

Thanks I’ve wanted to see what the hype is all about and it’s the best model to get so I tried it out its definitely loud lol just worried I might keep my fiance up if I am up late lol

I’ve never tried it myself, but I’ve been told you can run older keyboards through the dishwasher, on the top rack, to get rid of any crud that might be affecting their operation. One of our Engineers tried it as a last resort on a couple of keyboards a few years ago and said it worked for him.

Ah, the memories of taking English 101 in a roomful of bulky counter hogging machines and these keyboards clickity-clacking sounds of earnest writers seeking the teacher’s approval grade. That and the sound of the Epson dot matrix printer zipping away line by line…fast for draft mode and double pass for final copy.
You need to add the modem dial up sound when connecting this keyboard…err…ee…err…skeerreecchh…er…ee…kgherr…

Those old keyboards are great! Build like tanks. My mom actually has my old one on her computer. I have several of the old grey SGI keyboards I got from work probably 14 years ago now when the Systems department was cleaning up one day and said “free keyboards”.
I also like that these old keyboards don’t have the Win or Fn keys that I found sometimes got in the way when working with 3D and CAD packages.

Off topic:

Is it me or my app? I often see people’s photo being doubled. There’s 2 photos of the same image.
What gives? Any ideas or knowledge on this?

Ahh, before ergonomic was cool.

Nice - I have to look - somewhere in my storage is a original packed one
Somedays I’ll use it.
