Some little black cats for Halloween. Printed half-size, 3 at once, on my PrintrBot Simple. Tuxedo black PLA, 0.3mm layers, 10% infill, with support (via Slic3r).
They still need a bit of cleanup after removing the support, but I’m happy with them.
If you slice with Cura; check out MeshMixer; their support material generation is downright amazing, and easy to remove. Slic3r kinda chokes on it though.
@ThantiK I’ll have to look into that!
@ThantiK did they get the support thing working in mesh mixer? A few weeks ago people couldn’t get out working right
@Eric_Moy , no. The guy who works on it actually argued that it was the slicers job to slice non-manifold, completely fucked up models correctly. I guess that’s what Autodesk teaches them. Cura does a good job of determining what is inside and outside via the evenodd rule: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/shape/FillRule.html
Ugh, non manifold parts considered acceptable output, sounds more like a Kickstarter than autodesk SMH
