Someone pointed out to me that the XL profile on the belt of my 4th axis (non Shapoko) allowed for 2 degree of backlash.
What belt profile does Shapeoko use?
MXL belts are made for 1 way motion, while belts such as GT2 are made for synchronous 2 way motion. I don’t know what the current ShapeOko uses, but it’s a cheap upgrade (http://www.robotdigg.com has aluminum pulleys and belts for cheap)
The current version, Shapeoko 2, uses all GT2 belts and pulleys.

Correct, Shapeoko 2 uses GT2 belting (2mm pitch).
@Jonathan yes, robodigg is legit. it’s an odd workflow, but they have always delivered for me.
