Something I’ve never done before but very interesting. The wife wants to do some wood work. I’m not a wood guy. In wood I can’t use the fancy autolevel of the new controller. So… level the playing field!
Pretty interesting exactly how far off the MDF base is, some spots off by as much as .5mm!

I had to do this for the openbuilds bottle opener it works well… Just wish I had a fly cutting bit to make faster work of it

Making a fly cutter is not hard. They run out of balance so you can’t spin them very fast. 30 years ago I purchased a very old and large Indian mill. My first project was to make a flycutter and deck the mill bed. I used a piece of O2 steel for the body and it took about 2hr to make. I never ended up hardening the tool. The bit was simple a HSS lathe bit reground.
