Sorry for all the photos but figure I wouldn’t leave anything out, I got the printer built it leveled the bed put some masking tape down and printed this off thingiverse before my daughter unplugged it before it was finished…
Here is what I’m curious about, why is the outside line so thin and wide before starting to print, why can I see through the sides of the figure and also it seems like some of the lower layers didn’t bound well and kinda came apart with it was trying to clean the bottom? Any info would be awesome thanks.
Looks like under-extrusion. You may need to calibrate the extruder or increase the flow rate. Also, having a nozzle temperature too low can cause the filament to not come out smoothly and bond to the previous layers. When I first started I was afraid to print PLA at more than 200 since it usually says 180 to 200, but I routinely print it at 215 to 220 now. Also make sure that your nozzle size is set correctly in the software.
There are a lot of things that could contribute to the lower layers not bonding well. It looks like under-extrusion. Anything from improper e-steps-per-mm on the extruder, to wrong filament size, to incorrect nozzle size matchup between firmware/hardware, and even down to improper e-steps-per-mm on your X/Y/Z axis can cause this.
Additionally, clogs (did you follow the instructions for assembling that hot end to a tee? The last step of heating it up to 230C and tightening the nozzle are imperative) can cause the same under extrusion, etc.
I agree that it looks like it is under extruding. I also noticed your 1st layer height is a bit low. Set it to 150% of the layer height. I would also check the calibration on your extruder. You can also calibrate your filaments ideal temp too.
