Sorry for spamming lately guys but I am on a rapid design iteration spree

Sorry for spamming lately guys but I am on a rapid design iteration spree and now I have a new version (SCOUTcorexy SF-1_1012 Bushings XY_Stage XCarriage !!10mm!! YCarriage 10mm HorizontalRods SingleHotend by florinf-ro - Thingiverse) of my #SCOUTcorexy XY stage, one based on self lubricating #SF -1-1_bushings. Now both #Xcarriage and #YCarriage are re-designed to take this bushings.

I have also tried to re-design a bit better the hotend mount so that it is easier printable (on its side), now having belt-catchers that are printed separately (for layer orientation purposes) and the fans are more angled towards the lower fins of the hotend for better cooling. I have also introduced an air redirecting fin at the middle of the axial fans opening which will help both at printing time (offering a natural support) and they take the most of the air to the lower fins of the hotend.

Still looks awfully complicated but it’s not that bad. I haven’t seen on web other XCarriages that keep the hotend so that the nozzle sits at the center of the YRods and YCarriages.

As usual, comments are greatly appreciated.

Are the axial fans planed for cooling the E3D?
If yes, do you really want to blow the “hot” air downwards? By the way, this way you’ll generate “dead zones” between the fins where the air velocity is close to zero.

I suggest to use the 2 fans as a “push-pull” system.

Yes, the two fans are supposed to do just that: one to blow and one to suck air. I guess the arrows on the axial fans are in the right directions to show this.

Your corner idler bearings are still unsupported on top.

I have taken the liberty to include in the Thing only the geometry that I considered relevant for the intended purpose. You can check the whole concept I have just now uploaded to Sketchfab here: https://skfb.ly/OY8E
