Sound Reactive Hat

MSGEQ7 MAX9814 NodeMCU EPS8266

LED’s are powered off 2 18650s from
XCSOURCE 1A 5V Micro USB TP4056 Lithium Battery Power Charger Board Module TE420

Nodemcu currently powered off of USB

Thanks to @Jason_Coon for making the github, and thanks to @Garrett_Mace for making the MSGEQ7 audio file from his sound sensor for better pairing and AGC with the msgeq7+electret!

MSGEQ7 has 2 100uf capacitors in parallel on analog in and out on the msgeq7 board. Msgeq7 in comes fro MAX9814

also thanks to @Christian_Witzel for the MAX9814 with 100uf capacitors in parallel suggestion

will test with Wemos D1 mini soon, I expect better results from the MSGEQ7 with the 5V from the D1 Mini

some of the effects don’t work, and some cause watchdog resets still, but that draw VU works fine. Use the audio.h that I think macetech created for his soundsensor, its really good for gain and stuff

I think it was originally made for the RGBShades but it was ported by jason for single strip.

@Jesus_Climent no plans as of yet, I did the first intial test with the nodemcu, but the nodemcu is only 3.3v. I accidently fried a wemos d1 mini a week ago, but got 2 more in today. I know that the msgeq7 and max9814 work better with 5v so I am going to post some updates to hopefully show that the 5v from the wemos d1 mini gives more fidelity to the msgeq7 with max9814. I also started a pcb/ shield for the wemos d1 for this setup.

I really hope that I made them correct this time, I think its correct this time when I compared it to the old one, But I haven’t ordered any yet, just made a printout and checked on paper.
