Also I need to change my starting and ending G-code, if you plug the nozzle on the bed while heating up it will melt a little spot on PEI, which melts at about 190C.
@Bracken_Dawson yeah that’s one thing I never remember to change either until it hits the bed and starts heating. I usually like my bed temps a little higher than what you have them there, though.
Try wet sanding the surface of the PEI with 400 grit sandpaper until it is uniformly matte. That should let you drop the bed temp even more, give better hold during printing and retain the easy removal when the bed is cool.
Make sure that your bed is very clean. Using acetone will leave a film that will cause lifting. I use 90% isopropyl alcohol and print abs @ 105-110 with almost no lifting or issues.
I’ve never had to put anything down on the bed at all nor use sandpaper. If you’re careful not to leave a lot of oil from your fingers, it works reliably
@Ben_Hudson my sheet (the one from Amazon US has a glossy side and a matte side, I print on the matte side. I used the 3M self adhesive sheet to stick it down.
@Joe_Spanier You need purer acetone, but never use acetone on your PEI bed, it will reduce it’s life. I don’t find that I need it to be spotlessly clean at all, it really is very good.
