Squircles
(This deserved it’s own thread)
Below are two samples from ‘The Plotter’…the first one, you can see as round objects get smaller and smaller, they appear to become squared circles. I believe this was due to the paper not being taught, and the pen dragging. It’s surprisingly hard to get the plate in tram, get the pen to the right height, and not drag on acceleration.
The second sample was with the speed turned down to 20% (really slow), the paper REALLY taught, and the smallest circle looks much more circular. It’s pretty tough to tell, however, as the resolution of a fine point sharpie is kinda meh.
My gut is telling me that it’s not the @igus_Inc bushings dragging, or the 10mm rods deflecting. If I turn the plot speed way up, things stay mostly the same…and it screams.
