SSDs are good for 3D printing, mkay.
Like I didn’t have to tell you, but thought I’d share anyways.
I have a mid 2009 MBP that I use for my prints, and even though it’s got 8GB RAM and a 7200 RPM drive in it, I’d still see the FPS move all over in Repetier Host. So much so that I’d make sure to minimize or not leave RH on one of the panels as it printed cause sometimes I’d hear the printer grind as the FPS had dropped.
Just popped in a SSD and the FPS are locked in and not moving around like before. It wasn’t like I’d be running other apps but still it seemed like I had to be aware of which window I had left RH on.
Nice to breathe some new life into old hardware.
