Started assembly on my printer overhaul before I go get a blade to cut this extrusion. Anyone have any particular recommendations for an aluminum cutting 10 inch blade?
Any good carbide tipped blade will do nicely. Just don’t use a steel tooth blade
I’m cutting all kinds of aluminum with a Bosch “multi material”, 8 1/2 inch, 80 tooth carbide-tipped blade. It cuts aluminum and brass with ease, but will dull on mild steel.
Don’t overdo it with the cooling, as carbide can chip when rapidly cooled, and be safe - use proper eye and ear protection and properly secure your workpiece.
Or a hacksaw.
Aluminum is pretty soft.
hacksaw blade on a jigsaw. quick and easy. just file the burs from the edges
I use exactly the same blade as @Thomas_Sanladerer , cuts extrusions like butter and gives a clean edge finish.
I use a carbide blade on a miter saw with the extusion clamped down
Good luck!
