Started modeling a new method (for me) to make 3d printed objects after looking at the ‘Gothic Lantern’ on Thingiverse. More parts, some other materials (aluminum tubing), basicly trying to make something somewhat complicated in prints that are really easy for most machines. This is all quick printed mostly at .2mm, just a test lantern it will be printed cleaner when the final concept is worked out. Calling it ‘Pod 2’ since it was the second attempt at the construction method. it was supposed to be sci fi inspired but it’s getting more and more steampunk, which is OK I guess I like that genre. Tests showed indirect light projected up into it is going to look coolest but not provide as much ambient to a room. It’s not for reading though more like a dark restaurant or club wall sconce light. With a bulb directly behind the center diffuser it could be a walkway or entryway light, but there are a lot of shadowed angles, so a very moody walkway or entryway ;o)
