Started out the evening ready to make stuff, then my wife wanted me to come hang out with her, so moved my web cam to the shop, grabbed a laptop, and sat down with my wife, while monitoring the router (With a remote session to mach3 in case of problems), now accomplishing both.
But…you left your beer with the CNC!

I don’t understand why it isn’t piped through to the TV on the wall??? Perfectly good monitor going to waste! 
Is it just me or would a better solution be to point a webcam at yourself and give the laptop to your wife?

I feel your pain. Usually a “Hey be right back” gets me down into the shop for a good half hour or so.

Overlays are relatively easy - Bunnie Huang’s NeTV will do the job for about $150.
I think I would rethink that one, a wife can be unpredictable.
