Starting my all metal drive train OpenRC car.

Starting my all metal drive train OpenRC car. I’m determined to follow this through and get it working. I ordered all the drive train parts today. The only thing I will need to work on is the CVD’s. I may need to modify the wishbones if I can’t get the CVD’s from Conrad.

I think I’m finally comfortable enough to make the parts I need using 123d Design.

Like the logo imprinted on the parts. Orange and black combo is nice, and you can see RC heading.

What drive train components are you using?

I’m working off of this:

I have a contact in England and am going to order some drive shafts soon from Conrad. If you want I can order some extra ones for you.

@Oliver_Parlin That would be great!! How much would it run for 2 full sets so I can build 2 OpenRC cars?

it’s about $26 a set US before shipping

a set is one pair

22.95 Euro a set

@Oliver_Parlin Is this a one time deal or can we place more orders in the future? I will do 4 sets. Let me know how much that will be and I can send the money via paypal if that works.

It will be a one time deal right now. I’m only going to build one of these. I will let you know when I am going to do an order. it will be soon.

BTW I am not a scammer, you can check on me on Facebook page “good bad trader reports” page. Just join and ask about me or look at the trader report excel file we have online.

I am printing the model right now but am not sure what parts to print for the metal drive train conversion.

@Oliver_Parlin I figured you weren’t. I’m hoping to get the all metal drive train parts I ordered soon. I’ve thought about just modifying the Wishbones to make it work with something a guy can purchase in the US.

Oliver, go here:

It will reference these two links:

Central Differential:

Front/Rear Differential:

The HSP stuff on there I just ordered through ebay, and I ordered the two items on hobbyking.

Thanks for the reply. when I do order, I will message you and see if you still want them. should be in the next couple of days.

If not, I can order them for you later, after my order if you really need them.

Sounds good. Thanks.

I too am going to be building the metal driveline, what is special about these shafts, are they just hard to acquire?

You can’t order the ones that this RC car was designed around if you live in the U.S.

Ah ok, is that described in the thingiverse remix? I have not gotten that far yet. I’ve been following your progress since earlier this year and slowed my project down in the spring and summer. Getting back into it it appears like there is now my plastic differentials are going to hold up so am seeking alternatives.
