Possibly. I know MakerBot don’t use the best PTFE tubing because I’ve had the same problem with PLA. Also it’s worth adjusting the tension screw in the extruder assembly. I had to turn mine several full turns to make the feed reliable enough to leave overnight.
I changed out the extruder assembly to the new one they suggested & sent which is spring loaded instead of the tension screw… which may be part of the problem. I didn’t even think of the tubing though. Wonder if I can just lube it up? Probably shouldn’t say that out loud…
If you are referring to the feeder tube, you could also go to a larger diameter tube. More space would make the filament slide on a smaller area of one of the sides, making the friction much less.
