Status LED indicator for prints

Hello,
I have a LED ring that I bought a while back. I want to make a Status indicator for when prints are active, so I can look over and see if my print is finished. Is it possible to do this? It would be neat if it could do a pulsing/fading/breathing like affect. It runs off of 5v. I do not have my Smoothieboard at the moment (still shipping).

I believe you got an answer on IRC, but I’m answering anyway in case somebody finds this topic. You need to use the “play” LED, which does exactly this.
