Stef Weicks hello Apparently we exceed th elenght of you discussion thread :) How

@Stef_Weicks no :wink:
The instructions
matrix->setCursor(0, 0);
Is the position where you display the clock
So
matrix->setCursor(1,1); should do the trick

oh yes sorry… iĀ“m so stupid… i didnĀ“t see the code at the end

now the clock looks much better! :wink:

@Stef_Weicks you should have the clock position changing from time to time it could be fun

yes you are right ! would be a nice gimmick…

Do you also have some artifacts when you switch on your panel?
missing/deleted image from Google+

@Stef_Weicks it can depend on what the scripts does at first :slight_smile:
Update your gist so I can see what happen at the first run of the script

hm … do you think?

I’ve noticed that these artefacts only occur when the controller is powered on with the panels at the same time. I found out this happens very rarely or not at all, If you supply the controller extra with a power source.

@Stef_Weicks strange that would mean that the power is not enough and the late start provoques this. I don’t have that on mine

but I also do not know if this harms the LEDs or is just a subsidiary of the digital technique.

@Stef_Weicks this will not harm the leds.
I have one alim for both the panel and the board no issue.
But a think you can do is right after having declared all the strips fastled.addleds…

Add this
fill_solid(leds,NUM_LED,CRGB::Black);
FastLED.show();

This will turn the entire panel Black

oh yes i think you are right! i tried it now switching on the panels a few times … and no cracy artifacts at the beginning.

with other panels I often had this problem … i had to switch on and off the screen several times to get it working with an animation. so therefore i thought it could harm the leds…

I will test it with further projects!

@Stef_Weicks if you has issues running it’s because the power was not powering the mcu correctly sometimes so the boot process does not occur correctly.

hm ok … but i had 2 different panels on the controller …after booting one of the two didnĀ“t work … the other one worked fine… so i switched the whole thing of … and after a second on … than booth worked…

do you think … this is also the boot process?

@Stef_Weicks that’s strange I have To admit

hey @Yves_BAZIN !

now i did it … i made a guidhub-project out of this cool project :slight_smile:

here the link:

by the way … this morning i switched on the matrixclock and there was already the problem with the artifacts … hm i think i will try to put in an extra (small power supply) for the esp … this is not soooo the problem but i hope this will reduce this

@Stef_Weicks great job !!! It looks really really cool. Publish it in the show your work so everybody can enjoy your work and add a little video to accompany it. I am sure a lot of people willl be really interested in what you’ve done.

@Stef_Weicks

thanks! i will do a video this evening… and than post it :wink:

i am trying to get the sd write program on the artnetwifi-sdread… with an additional button.

so my problem is now i don“t know do i need the
void saveframes() with
xTaskCreatePinnedToCore(FastLEDshowTask2,…

in the arntewifi+sdread programcode we have…
xTaskCreatePinnedToCore(checkWifiTask,…
and
FastLED.show();
so i don“t know, do i need the FastLEDshowTask2?

i thought i could copy this in the artnet read sector of the wifiartnet code to see the animation while recording… if this wonĀ“t slow down the sd-write process?
