still problems with Dia LPD6803IC

Hi there again!

I´m having not the knowledge to operate these Pixels. I tried it with the lpd6803 strand test. But it doesn´t work.

They are sealed in silicon. I extracted the one on the foto on the left. 5V red wire-gnd white wire-clock blue and data green wire. I knew that they need seperate 5 Volt and gnd to the pixel and the arduino. But it seems that I do something wrong or don´t know about the Pixel o the code to run them.
It would be very nice if someone can help me.

p.s. I cut off the first pixel because the first time I run them with 12 volt. ;-( But now I´m a little bit cleverer. The led´s are still working. But what is with the IC´s?

Thanks

Jörg

The lpd6803 is no longer a supported chipset, I dropped it a few years ago.

Hi Daniel!

Yes. I know. But I´ve got this only.
And I try to use it.
I installed the lpd6803 rgb master von adafruit and have all in the tutorial doen(inclusiv the TimerOne). But no reaction. So what can I do???

Are you sure you’ve wired on the input of an led and that you didn’t have clock and data backwards?

Also, if you applied 12v to the line there is a chance you fried more than just the first led.

Hi Daniel!

That`s possibile.
Because I worked the ada fruit tutorial very accurate through. And I tried if the manufacturer does a mistake with the wirering(what is very probably).

I think that I fried the IC´s with 12 Volt. But good to know that maybe some survive.

Next Step is to try it out.

Good is that mistakes are existing to learn. And only if you don´t learn from that you made it really wrong.
