Still Working on the PC Case, this was an idea i though would be interesting and is looks like liquid light…
Would love to see a teardown of this installation. Why do I suspect there’s a ton of LED’s here.
2 meters of 144’s wrapped’ not too many. Are there ever too many RGB LED’s?
Well, they sure look nice. For me, there can be too many LED’s, as my projects run solely off of 2200mAh (or less) USB power banks.
I ran this for 9 hours on a 13000mAh USB power bank.
Very nice! Is that a frosted acrylic tube? Mind if I ask where you found it?
That my friend is White Translucent Plastic Film, rolled and taped. It was a real pain.
This is a prototype, the inner tube is cardboard, the top and bottom caps are foam and the outer tube is the plastic film.
I want to find a 4 or 5 inch frosted transparent tube or a better way to tape the film I am using.
(I need a Youtube video for rolling paper or plastic and taping them from the inside with our a line.
I’ll pull it apart and take a few pix.
Maybe this:
Are you going to share your code? I’m not really a programmer either, and even older. But I love to make the LEDs do their thing.
I found an acrylic tube that might work. Comes in various diameters. Seems reasonably priced.

I am using the Demo Real, the only changes I made was to increase the delay between changes to 2 min.
That should definitely be in the background of some future sci-fi movie(s)!
For tubes, has anyone tried clear ones with the spray-on frosting/etching?
I am looking for 4 or 5" acrylic tube to make this more stable. the spray on frosting is a great Idea.
Yesterday, I made one similar and ended up wrapping 1m of 60 LED/m around a Christmas wrapping tube. I use a single 18650 battery, so power draw is a consideration (average was 200mA). The diffuser was one of my bamboo lanterns, covered with tissue paper. In order to get the swirly effect, the distance between the LED’s and the diffuser is very important.
May I see a Video?
I am looking for a way to make a xmas tree like the tube, 2 wire cones , one smaller for the lights and the second a bit larger for the diffuser. I think it would look amazing.
