Stumpled upon these, and for the price of US$56.39, with those stepper drivers, it almost sounds to good to be true. Any thoughts?

@VolksTrieb I don’t question the original IC’s I know about them what I need to know. My question is about if the ones for this actually are good, because the price difference between these and genuine is pretty big.

Honestly, I wouldn’t buy any Mega2560-based board at all.

Well in toms video he shows how good they are :wink: All i know is most people say they are more silent. But after all they cant drive that much current.

aawww now i know what you mean. Well this is on aliexpress. So your buying mostly things from china and other cheap manufacturers. Thats might not be bad. But there is so much offers on aliexpress dont try to find people who actually buyed this. An also the seller may change his source for some parts. Either youll buy it and try it and share your experience or you should just save up some money for it.

@VolksTrieb because Marlin, etc is just too slow. It’s largely a hack to make these slow microcontrollers work at the speeds we need them. In order to progress, 32 bit platforms are needed with higher clock speeds and more features. Smoothie/Redeem is where it’s at - no more Mega2560 I’d say.

@ThantiK well yes for future printers and bigger things and better resolutions yes ok. But my arduino still is up to my case. Yeah maybe someday when i build my next printer ill get a smoothieboard

The MKS stuff is OK, I will warn you that the screen headers will most likely be flipped. It took me a while with much head scratching to work that out.
