Suc-freaking-sess!
The other shipment of PLA came in yesterday (Naturally on a night were I was running around doing Scout stuff). And while I’ve had a few failed prints, nothing was related to PLA clogging the extruder! Alas, all of the stuff I WANT to print is 6-9 hours long, and I haven’t had enough successful printjobs to troubleshoot the end of the printing process (X and Y home, Z goes full wonko-tilt to max travel) to leave the printer unattended.
My review of JustPLA PLA vs. Makerbot: Well, it’s 1000% more useful…it’s smell isn’t as pleasant, and at 190C it’s ‘softer’ than Makerbot at 230. And it’s not as…well…uniform as the Makerbot filament, meaning it doesn’t lay on the spool like Makerbot…it looks like the test section of Makerbot that I baked to make sure moisture wasn’t causing my problems (it wasn’t).
So now I get to dial-in the rest of the issues that bad PLA wasn’t letting me get to…like over extrusion ooze.
