Super excited to put these on my printer!! They are apperently quiet with very good amazon reveiws. Only way to know is to try them
Aren’t the wires a little short? Did they come with extensions?
@Kevin_Danger_Powers ya they are short, and no they didnt have extensions, but I already have wires that go to the board, and a 2 way splitter from printrbot
amazon linkage?
I wish there was more 24v options on amazon. Hard(er) to find radial blowers in that voltage!
@Mike_Kelly_Mike_Make ya, I belive it is bc they are made for laptops and their second use is printers. Laptops primarily use 12-15v at 5amps, the fans I got are for laptops.
Ya most 24v prior to printers was used in PLC control cabinets and accessories. We’re seeing more smaller fans at 24v, but they’re far and few
@Mike_Kelly_Mike_Make as time goes on, they will start making ones for 24v specific to printers just bc 24v is better for them
I got some cheap ones off ebay…they are super loud and I had to resolder the wires shorter because they were like a foot long and I needed just the length you have there.
I’ll probably upgrade to those if they are indeed quiet. Well worth it in my book.
As an FYI RobotDigg has a good selection of 24v blowers, but they’re china (maybe hong kong?) based and their shipping prices are a bit high, but fast
Put two identical 12v fans in series for 24v
I get my 24V blower fans from here:
Good service and not a bad price.
When the bearings start to get worn/dry I use Teflon lubricant on them and they quiet right up.
I’ve bought several workable 24V blowers from eBay and US Amazon in various sizes. Amazon.ca is probably a different story.
@Jeff_Parish do you know where to get some of that lube for cheap? My fans are getting a little noisy.
@Kevin_Danger_Powers sorta a long shot but any nearby paintball store will have lube for cheap, just depends on if there is one near by. Thats where I got mine for 3bucks and I still have the same bottel
@Kevin_Danger_Powers You can pick it up at a bicycle shop or possibly Walmart. Look up Finish Line Dry Lubricant with Teflon.
5020’s are common, but finding 4010’s like this is less easy: https://www.robotdigg.com/product/514/12V-or-24V-4010-Turbo-Blower
@Hank_Palan I tested them out and they are quieter than my e3dv6 fan on full. A word of warning, these fans only go max speed, which isnt a problem for me, but could be for others. I can post a vid of the noise lvl if you want
