Awesome work John, and so much new features?! Can we use the zero place feature in the eagle widget, i mean the input field that say the X-Y Offset are Xmm? I need this for my pnp work to let the user decide where the zero point is on this platform.
Yes, for sure. Those floaty menus were really to try to set an example for how your PNP widget could work such that when a user clicks on one of your regions like a spot to place an IC that they could see a floaty menu to choose which component. Or, the XY would be great to borrow wherever you need it.
Nice! and what about How to set step down?
Way cool, John.
Two Questions :1. First I have seen reference to the tinyGStaging workspace. Is that workspace described somewhere, or am I correct to assume it is like an Edge release, heading to Master (tinyG speak).
Question 2 : I was curious if/how the SVG2Gcode widget would handle a layered Inkscape. I created a drawing with three simple objects on two layers. Tried importing it, the widget complained about nested groups, so I guess the answer is must be a flat SVG. So I flattened it, reloaded the workspace and imported a flattened version. No complaints this time, but nothing displayed in 3D viewer and the Gcode tab in the widget say “Needs regenerated”.Do I force regeneration, or is that automatic and has failed? Here is the file if you want to try it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B22T_pmL-89pNkI2ZzV3N2taZkE/view?usp=sharing
Seems likely I violated some other rule, but not sure wich one.
Hi Carl, could you try converting your simple objects to paths in Inkscape? I’m guessing you did native circles? Circles are supported but only in absolute mode, not relative mode, so could be that.
@Camilo_A_C you’d have to go tweak the widget to add step down. It wouldn’t be much more code to add that. You up for tweaking it?
Thanks John - can’t wait to give it a try.
@jlauer My file, now here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B22T_pmL-89pR3lwNzQxS3VfUk0/view?usp=sharing is a quick doodle, a circle, an ellipse and a square, I selected all three and did Object to path, dragged file into CP workspace but same result: “Gcode Needs re-generated”.
I’ll try another simple test tomorrow. How does one determine “mode” (absolute/relative)
Sorry, you need to “simplify” which is Ctrl+L in inkscape. It’s in the path pulldown menu. That converts everything to paths.
