Teaser Image for New PrintrBot

I don’t know if my bank account is ready, but just noticed the first sneak peak at a new printer from PrintrBot. Looks like a new version of the Simple we all know and love, which will presumably replace the old version in the lineup.

Notable Changes:
USB B port
Ribbon cables
Linear rails (at least on Z)
Removed “step” in base
Enclosed hotend (?)
Centrifugal fan (?)

Anyone hear any other details about the new PB? What would you like to see get changed or updated?

Update: Gallery now available: http://printrbot.com/2016/05/12/the-next-great-printrbot/

I hate it when that happens right after a few acquisitions…

Nice to see it!! Would love to get my hands on one

A few acquisitions… we know what that means.

Yes and about to make more…darn it.

They’ve most likely switched to linear rails. Check out the center platform’s hole pattern.

As the original hot end and cheap linear bearings were my biggest two problems with Printrbot Simple Metal (and one of them I solved with very good E3D V6 hot end), it looks like amazing for me.
PS: Too far to event from Central Europe, but I hope you all will be posting news.

@Cruz_Monrreal_Mr_Cru look at the vertical supports, they are no longer round.

I’ll be going to Maker Faire. It’ll be interesting to see what they’ve got (although it probably won’t be an upgrade to my Metal Plus).

A picture of the back has come up on the site now; looks like it’s officially switched over to ribbon cables (which makes sense from what we’ve heard out of PB R&D).

Ribbon cables are good. Our Type-A Pro at work has cables. So much better than conventional wiring.

I had to do some rewiring and add a cable chain to fix failure on my Printrbot Metal Plus.

Updated original post with new link to the recently released gallery, and listed the obvious changes. Anyone notice anything else from these shots?
