Thanks to everyone who offered me suggestions and steered me away from a bowden setup.

I’ve decided to go with a E3D Titan Aero for my Wanhao i3 Plus (Cocoon create touch). That way I can print Nylon and flexible stuff too.

Has anyone on here put an Aero on a wanhao i3+ ? Can you offer any tips?

I could only find one bracket for this combination on thingiverse, unless you can recommend some that are good?
This is a problem when you only have one 3d printer, if your upgrading it and need to print something out to make it work you need to downgrade it again first

That’s always a worry when you have just one working printer. You might find more specific help at a community that is built around your specific machine,

@Martin_Dolan Since as far as I know, the wanhao uses “standard” prusa x axis rods. (a.k.a. The rods are m8 smooth rods and are the same distance apart as the original prusa ones.) This means you should be able to use any “prusa” style carriage for the Titan aero.

@Aaron_Spaulding Really? That’s interesting. I guess I am replacing the whole thing instead of modifying it

@Jeff_DeMaagd it does make me laugh that 3D printing is a self sustaing reason to justify itself.

You buy a 3D printer and 90% of the first things you print are for “upgrading” your printer. Then you need a second 3D printer to upgrade the first one while it’s being upgraded. The cycle continues.

This 3D printing thing is basically a highly contagious virus isn’t it.
… I’m enjoying being infected :yum:
