The free CubeX is now printing. It’s so damn slow.
Yeah, it’s not a very good machine. Acrylic structure, excessively heavy mechanism, “black box” software, expensive proprietary filament reels and often flakey electronics. I had someone say they easily got better results from a Solidoodle 2.
I’m trying to prove it works so I can sell it.

I don’t know about the Cube X, but a former coworker of mine had a Cube 3D, and you can trick it into using regular spools of filament. Unless there is something vastly different in the mechanism/software that reads the spools, it probably works on this one too. Here’s the info: http://www.howmuchsnow.com/cube/
I think here is a filament adapter for CubeX too.
The other thing you can do is strip their controller off and throw a ramps on. It can only get better lol
I fixed mine by changing to a rambo board and customizing my own firmware. It’s still slow but it’s better then stock.
