The latest incarnation of the SLS version of the #DrakonExtruder. It still needs some small tolerancing tweaks but it’s getting close to being fully sorted.
Ok, it looks preatty, but what are the advantages?
@lightshadown - Think of it as a customisable Titan. It’ll take any MK8 Style hobb, from a basic Chinese to a E3D Hobbgoblin. Like the Titan, it has a 3:1 gear reduction which allows higher resolution on the filament feed. Most of the parts are “off the shelf” Which means you can pick up spares easily. When it comes to production, it I’m aiming for it to come in at about £45 inc EU Tax, so it’s a high performance budget extruder.
Let us know where to find the BOM, and assembly videos (hint hint) or inductions
@Panayiotis_Savva all at https://github.com/AxMod3DPrint/Drakon-Extruder
BOM is on the Github Wiki, assembly instructions (which are a little outdated now and I need to redo them) are at https://youtu.be/jO8r4zXFYHI
Nice work Ax.
Nice! I’ve printed and assembled one on my own - had to do some small adjustments on the small gear. I’m really excited trying that extruder out and see how it compares to a genuine Titan
Is there a difference in the Bowden and direct drive versions or is it universal? If so different are both sets of files available to try out or just Bowden?
@peter_rowser It’s universal. The Extruder can be used in both Bowden and Direct drive
