The longest print I have ever done by a quite a bit.

The longest print I have ever done by a quite a bit. This extruder block took 1:40:42. I’ve tried to print this thing at least 5 times previously. Each time one or both of the axis’ ended up skipping and ruining the print. I’ve installed a dedicated fan for x and y and they seem to have effectively done the job.

Cura’s slicing beat Slic3r’s time by nearly an hour and a half. Though the estimate was short, the time spent printing was much better. I’m pleased with the outcome. My current extruder block is being held together by zip ties, so this will be a much desired improvement. (Though my zip-tie extruder is working fine - so I don’t know why I’m in such a hurry.)

Very nice!

I printed a block that big with my mk4 extruder… It was a very tedious 2 hours keeping it feeding.

Because Murphy’s Law says when you become complacent the zip tied one will fail and you could not print a replacement.

By 1:40:42, is that just under 2 hours? Or is that 1 day, 40 hours… I’m confused. I can remember a print I’ve ever done taking less than an hour, but I don’t have an Ultimaker

Just under two hours. Not a feat for most people or printers, but for my Cupcake it’s a record. FWIW, this is also the largest thing I’ve printed (successfully). With the old electronics and extruder, I never would have dared to print something so large that would take so long. Too risky. But my cupcake is running a printrboard and a greg’s accessible (which is not so accessible due to zip ties) extruder. Now that my printer is stepping into the realm of reliable, I can print the things I’ve always wanted to.

Ah, I thought that was an Ultimaker. Vintage, nice

I suspect if it were an Ultimaker, it would’ve hit Cura’s target estimation (1:03). This is an example of me trying to use what I have to get to something that I want - my target in the near future is a Kossel.
