The new tricopter I just finished. The main hub, front motor mounts and the rear landing gear and servo mount are printed in abs the rear motor mount is in nylon. It will have it’s first flight tomorrow.
How did the maiden flight go?
Very wobbly due to the settings on the kk2, but no major crashes so I’m very happy… The landing gear is a little short so I’m going to add some PVC pipe cross section as gear to lift it (as it is I don’t think any fpv gear will fit under it. I did crash it hard today and broke a boom but that’s what is supposed to break in a hard crash so I’m very very happy so far
A quad or tricopter is also something I want to build in the not to distant future. It’s good to have a predefined breaking point, on a part that’s relative easy/cheap to replace.
Good luck, i love mine, I as well printed the body and used wood booms and works out great. I am actually using printed propellers also. They are not as efficient but i got tired of breaking store bought ones
